welcome 2 bisjac

So my computer crashed (Blue Screened) twice in the last 24 hours and I just checked the crash dump. Is there anyone that could tell me what the cause of it is? I have Windows 8.1.

Is this a decent PSU?

I plan to eventually have an FX-4130, R9 270, 8 gigs of RAM, a single HDD and DVD drive.

ew 4130

Get the 4300 instead

Frankie helped me on steam chat, we deleted system 32 deleted Windows/System32/Drivers/MBAMSwissArmy.sys and if it happens again i'm going to try a complete reinstall.

yah, I already have the 4130. It's not that great, but it works. :/

I plan to upgrade that to something higher end next year. Maybe a 6350?

Waste of money

Do a complete vanilla reinstall of MBAM and see if that fixes it.

Btw, the cheapest vector of DDR4 'upgrade' (but not a full build) is to drop $700 for the new CPU Mobo and RAM which would be:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  ($29.99 @ Micro Center)
CPU: i7-5820K ($389.99)
Mobo: ASRock X99 Extreme3 ($209.79)
RAM: Crucial (1x4GB) DDR4-2133 ($51.99)
Total: $681.76
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

At this point most of the cost is the higher priced mobos and CPUs but if you still want DDR4 now here's the way to get it.

Extreme end CPUs don't come with CPU coolers, so get a good aftermarket cooler like the EVO to properly cool it.

Guys, which R9 270 should I get?

Sapphire R9 270: Looks significantly better, only requires one 6 pin PCI connector. $159.99 (after rebate).

Gigabyte R9 270: Slightly faster core clock, looks ugly, requires 2 6 pin PCI connectors. $149.99 (after rebate).

I don't think you should really consider the looks since it's gonna be inside a computer case
so unless you're gonna need that extra connector you should probably get the gigabyte one

From what I hear, stay away from sapphire. Stay with Gigabyte, Asus, EVGA, and MSI.

I think EVGA is Nvidia only though, just as Sapphire is AMD only.

I think it's going to be a mixed bag, just like with any computer part manufacturers.

I agree, performance and price are more important than looks, but I do have a case window...
