I have a couple hundred dollars i could use, or I could just use the build as it is and put that money towards some other projects I have.

I really don't want to upgrade motherboards, and the only real alternative to the 4300 without spending big bucks would be like a 6300 or something, which I have heard doesn't really add much performance as far as gaming is concerned.

That being said I would like to get a faster GPU just because I'd like to max out a few more games.  Don't get me wrong, the 270 is a great card, especially for the price, but I feel like if I could sell it to a friend of mine and put that towards a faster card (possibly another AMD card, since GTA V is rumored to have Mantle support).  I was looking at the Gigabyte R9 280, which has a number of superior stats compared to my 270, but of course it is about 40 dollars more expensive for something that might not even give that much of a performance boost.

SO from the looks of it i can't really do much justifiably without dropping a lot of cash, so unless someone has some magic they can work up I guess my build is gonna stay the same.

Well, my bro just got a R9 280, and I just orderd an R9 270, so I suppose we could soon compare them?

Well, I have a FX 4130 and 4 gigs of ram, so eh, similar, but still fairly different than yours.

He has an i5 4460 and 8 gigs, so his is going to be better than mine.

I just plugged in my mechanical keyboard and it seems to be working fine now. I'll keep using it to see if anything changes.

You can pull this off if you manage to sell the old GPU and CPU for a bit of extra cash, should be able to do everything you want it to be able to do. Might want to look at getting some extra fans for your case as well, I don't know how hot the R9 280X runs.

Forgot to mention a new laptop was finally sent to me after a month of lenovo not being able to repair my other one. It was worth the wait. I'm able to play blockland with soft shaders enabled all the time. I don't notice much lag until the brick count gets to around 70k. I also can run Unturned on max graphics at 60-70 FPS and Age of Empires 3 max graphics at 55-65 FPS. Overall amazing performance for a laptop and I would recommend the Lenovo Y50 to even the most serious gamers.

look at those BEAUTIFUL DRAWER RAILS
not sure if I'm gonna take them out or not. they look tacky but if I remove them it'll just leave holes. possibly one messy hole because of the screw in it
also the case is empty. I'm still waiting for the motherboard, RAM, and graphics card

Dunno about that nf... Cooling is always a pain in an enclosed space, especially if it's that small. Might be worth cutting through that back panel for exhaust

Should be fine so long as it's just the outtakes that are obstructed and even then I doubt it'll be much of a problem as long as he gives them some breathing room. Then again it doesn't get much hotter than 30 degrees celsius in the UK so it might be a climate thing that I just don't get.

As long as he has an outtake fan on the top he SHOULD be okay. If not, it would be smart to either mod the desk to add a hole in the back (also may help with cable management) or bring the case a little more forward.

I am well aware this a double post, but this is completely irrelevant to my above post

Here is my cable management from the back. Decided to get Velcro straps since the back was messy and kinda hard to close



Also, when i first put in everything, i did make a mistake: I used a razor to cut the zip tie holding the front I/O cables together and i accidentally cut into the Front USB 2.0 cable, which sucked. Just so you know, i had to cut the zip tie because the reset switch cable was too short when it was tied.




So I had to change the front I/O, which was a bigger pain in the ass than I thought, but I think everything went well enough.

there is no back panel
there was before but I took it out. it's not in the picture
so once air blows out of the back it'll be able to go out to the sides. if you really think it wouldn't be good enough, though, I can pull the desk back a bit

That's a really nice looking mid tower.
Also I have room for my desktop even with a drawer, but I still took it out so I can close the front door of it and still have an area at the top of it to get some air from.

I like it. I wanna remove the little cooler master logo, though. it would be ideal to replace it with something cool but it's doubtful that I could actually do that successfully
