Hey guys, my socket temp gets up to 74c and then crashes my computer with blackscreen and the fans/lights stay running, I have to hard reset it. With my side panel off, and a big box fan blowing right on the blackplate, temps stay at 65c. So what can I do to lower temps? Is it a case cooling issue? Is my CPU defective? Here is Hardware monitor and a picture of my silly setup. GPU disabled to make sure that's not what is crashing.

74c is not hot.

run a memtest to check ram. a stuffty stick may only be noticeable after hours of gaming or even only show up as a crash during stupid stuff like a youtube vid.

I don't know where else to throw this thought except for a new thread, but damn that Moto X 2015 is hot.
Yeah. And the Moto G is kinda disappointing.

So a few of you probably know what happened to me within the past month or two, but basically I'm gonna have to build a new desktop PC. tl;dr/all I can really say right now is that my desktop PC was stolen from me, which really sucks. I'm doing whatever I can in my power to get it back, but unfortunately I have to wait until I can do anything to hopefully get it back.

Anyway, here's what I'm looking at currently:
CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 6-core
Mobo: MSI X99A SLI KRAIT Edition
CPU Cooler: Corsair H90
GPU: MSI GTX 960
RAM: Crucial Ballistix DDR4-2666
SSD: Samsung 128GB M.2
HDD1: Toshiba 3TB
HDD2: Toshiba 2TB (this will be used for virtual machines)
PSU: Corsair RM750i
Case: In Win 904.PLUS

I might change around these parts depending on how much I'm able to spend.

my front panel won't line up with the drive bay, so i'm gonna repost what i posted on a different forum to see if any of you guys can help me.

I'm no expert on cases but it looks like the PCB for the headers is just held in with clips, have you tried pushing it to the left a bit until it lines up?

it's connected to that plastic thing that is screwed in, so i can't move it.

this might be a dumb question.
but is it upside down? one of them 2 parts may be. since they are nearly symmetrical, it could be hard to tell.

it can be screwed in with the screw holes it's currently screwed into, and the ones i pointed out.

i don't know, it's possible considering i can't remember jack stuff. i doubt it thought considering the print is right-side up

The SPK and MIC of the PCB  are opposite of the front panel. So there's a solid chance it's upside down.

it's not opposite, the spk and the mic line match up with the symbols on the front panel.

Its upside down man.

oh lmao, i'm a moron.

On the PCB you see SPK on the left audio jack, but the panel has the mic symbol there. It's upside down.

I need a case with plenty of room in the back. :(
The Corsair Air 540 should have more than enough space in the back.
