my brother (epicduke) who is going into IT says i need two slots open, i have four slots, is this true?
is your memory dual channel 4Gb or a single 8Gb stick?

dual

dual
im not sure but iirc you can mix and match different sticks but the fastest one will get nottlebecked to the slowest one

Just buy the same identical sticks, plug them in and you're good

Wait, why would you prioritize 16Gb's of ram over a newer mobo and CPU?
chrome kept eating all of my memory, it was on sale too so it was like $40

any recommendations for a new mobo/cpu then? needs to be mini itx or it won't fit in my case and i don't want a new case. i was thinking either this or this for the motherboard, and then something like this for the cpu

You should get a 4th gen unlocked cpu imo
Apperently skylake isnt much of an improvement.

what

skylake allows for ddr4 ram but at the moment it really doesnt offer much unless you get the better skylake core.

True
But ddr4 isnt much of an improvement to ddr3 either

True dd4 has faster clockspeeds but it also comes with a higher latency
And the max stick size is 16Gb too iirc while ddr3 can have a maximum stick size of 8Gb. This is only usefull is servers tough. Unless you want a crapton of ram

what are you talking about "max stick size"

what are you talking about "max stick size"
maximum memory on a single stick of ram

But im mistaken. apperently DDR3 can also be 16Gb's in size. Eh
Whoever told me that is an idiot

what case do you have

there is no limit to how much memory can be in a single stick unless you're up to the physical limit that the motherboard chipsets and cpus can hold, which i assure you is more than 16gb on any motherboard worth more than 50 dollars

I was thinking of rambus RAM for some reason lol. for some reason I forgot about the dummy chips and just thought they were supposed to be left empty. I have no idea what type of RAM niff has anyways

can the raspberry pi 3 be able to run a BL server? ive been wondering about that and the usage of the rapsberry pi 3's usefulness.

second question can the raspberry pi's specs

SoC: Broadcom BCM2837
CPU: 4× ARM Cortex-A53, 1.2GHz
GPU: Broadcom VideoCore IV
RAM: 1GB LPDDR2 (900 MHz)
Networking: 10/100 Ethernet, 2.4GHz 802.11n wireless
Bluetooth: Bluetooth 4.1 Classic, Bluetooth Low Energy
Storage: microSD
GPIO: 40-pin header, populated
Ports: HDMI, 3.5mm brown townogue audio-video jack, 4× USB 2.0, Ethernet, Camera Serial Interface (CSI), Display Serial Interface (DSI)

be able to support blockland? or alteast just run it? don't know much about it and im more interested in server use than playing games on it

I think if you cluster multiple you can.
I dont think a single one can handle a game server

And I dont think a MicroSD card can read fast enough tho
