Ryzen's out, and we got a slew of benchmarks out now.
They generally show that it runs great for applications that use the threads of the cpu effectively, however gaming performance lags behind compared to intel's offerings.
Benchmarks are not all accurate. See Gamers Nexus for more details
Seems like a slew of BIOS versions cause slowdowns, leading to the varied benchmarks that we see

AMD stocks have been falling, apparently due to the disappointing gaming performance of the CPU.

AMD stocks have been falling, apparently due to the disappointing gaming performance of the CPU.
Remember, the R7 1700x and 1800x were meant to compete with the Intel 6800k and 6900k, not their gaming CPU's like the 7700k and the 6700k.
This and games are highly unoptimized for AMD and Nvidia / other drivers and BIOS updates need to be done so the CPU can perform to it's true potential

Unfortunately AMD / Nvidia have nothing to do with CPU which run by default through the bios. Bios updates might have to come, but seeing how other CPU line launches came out I doubt there'll be any improvement in Ryzen. This has nothing to do with Bios at this point, it's plain out the way games handle CPUs. Games that do CPU1 on 100% and the others less will never benefit from AMD's stuff. Games that use 100% of all cores, and also take advantage of the additional threads are fairly rare.
The biggest disappointment is that it was designated as a gaming CPU, which it was obvious it would fail as.
I want to see benchmarks made on programs instead of benchmark stuff like PCMark, CineBench etc. Like Photoshop etc. The only ones I seen are browsers, and the CPU falls behind a lot in multiple browser tests as well.

If you watch the LinusTechTips review you see that it literally performs just as good as intel CPUs at gaming

why should we settle?
Well sure but why would matching intel be disapppointing, that's forgetin' amazing! It's a huge step forward!

ho stuff guys my zotac GeForce gtx 1050 2gb mini video card is now being shipped
thanks to whoever suggested that
lets hope it actually fits in my 100% stock store bought asus case

lets hope it actually fits in my 100% stock store bought asus case
pray for me homies
99.99% sure it will

just be sure you put it into your first pci slot, most of the time it's a pci-e slot, but if not, open your case and look inside / search up your pc to be sure bb

So the heatspreader was coming of my ram stick again and decided to put it back on. And I figured I might as wel do the same on the other stick. So I took but out, put the heatspreader back in place and put them back in. Power the system on and now its in a boot loop
When I take the right stick out it works fine
What do?

Edit: removed power and cmos battery for a while and it works fine now
I almost got a hearth attack smh

You need a new pc espio
No I dont
I need an entire new power system in my house

I need a good card recommendation, sub-$300 that still has VGA/brown townog support. AMD or Nvidia, doesn't matter. The VGA support is extremely important and I can't do without it.

You're not going to really find VGA on modern cards, you can buy an adapter that lets you use VGA if you absolutely have to tho.
As for the card, the GTX 1060 will do great at that price point.

I asked for VGA support. My current card doesn't have a VGA/D-sub connector but the second DVI port supports brown townog signals, so I used a VGA/DVI adapter. I'm asking for a card that can do largely the same.
