Bought a gtx 770 a few months back, but I'm still running a phenom 2 I bought when I bought this computer about 4 years ago. So I'm looking to upgrade my cpu, and since i'll be switching from AMD to Intel, my mobo.

Is the i7 3770k still the "Go to" CPU? Nothing else really sticks out to me.
Does this mobo look good? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837
yeah the 3770k is still top dog

go for the i7 4770k. newer generation, slightly better performance, plus you have the opportunity to upgrade to broadwell in a few years
plus it costs 10 bucks less on newegg

note: if you plan on gaming, an i5 is more than sufficient; an i7 will yield nearly no increase in performance for games
if you are doing some intensive stuff like video editing, modeling, all that stuff, then yes go for the i7

That's a pretty solid choice for the price. I would go for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130727 though if I had the extra $20.

Any particular reason why you'd prefer that one?
Also, anyone have any suggestions for a keyboard and mouse? Something gaming oriented would be nice, but I stay away from anything shaped, or with buttons on one side, that would make it suited for use with one hand. Because I switch which hands a play with because I'm weird like that. I'd like to not go over $100 for the mouse/keyboard total, unless it's something really worth the price. Also my keyboard/mouse space is really narrow, so i cant have a keyboard with extra buttons on the side

Built a new PC which runs well, only problem is the internet and anything that uses is runs 5x slower than on my old ass laptop.
Spent the last 2 days trying to update drivers and figure out why the forget it's so slow, I never want to read another help article again.
Why cant I just insert $50 into the computer or something to make it fix itself :'c

I'd go with the MSI one, even though it's a little more

What's a good laptop I can get for $400 to $480? I found this - just wanted to see if there was anything better than that

what will you use it for

it's for my sister
so web browsing, point and click adventure games, and typing papers.

Guys, I'm having a problem with my netbook. SAMSUNG model NC110. It's pretty beat up (power switch out of place and a broken screen) but it runs well. The charger's cable was cut and reconnected many times (due to pups biting it) but it works (as I successfully burnt a 5v LED). The thing is, my netbook isn't charging unless I remove the bat and put it back in. Then it will charge for a few minutes and not charge anymore. It's currently at 80% in Powersaver. Any ideas? Net's Max Input Voltage(Amperes): 19V(2.1A). Charger's output voltage(amperes): 18v(1.9A). The original charger got wet (silly me) and I'm using a Compaq 2882 laptop charger.

I've had a laptop that had a similar-ish issue. For my laptop, it slowly would refuse to charge by any means at random times. It eventually got to the point where it never charged again. This issue is, apparently, caused by a dying charging board. If you look up the maintenance manual for your laptop, you should be able to find and replace the charging board assembly with a new charging board (given you can find one online to buy).

This netbook is less than 2 years old. I have a Desktop from 1999-2000 that runs fine. Why are new things so fragile.
