You need the drivers for 3.0 USB ports. I have a laptop and had the same problem.

Note: Not sure which one is the one that doesn't work so I've uploaded both for you.
I think it's the FLUSB3.0 one that works but check both of them.

Yes, the 2011 edition (mine) is gloss black with blue backlighting, the 2012/13 edition is matte black with green backlighting. Cherry blue mechanical switches on both.

For some reason the 3.0 USB ports themselves require their own individual drivers.

I've installed all my drivers and the ports didn't work until I installed it's own drivers. It's really stupid because they don't provide you with the drivers on a CD.

Try it, trust me.

I have a laptop. I'm pretty sure it's connected. Also he said that it makes a sound when he plugs it in the port but it doesn't function.
There would be no sound if his cable wouldn't be plugged in.

I don't think you understand, I can't use Newegg as I'm outside of Canada and the US.

I did look up parts there but after a middle-man postal service, shipping, and tax its just as or more expensive than buying from a retailer, plus I'd void warranty that way and have to wait longer.

Count yourself lucky you get to pay less for parrtsss. I have to pay about $200USD more than you.

Hey I need technical help.

I have a computer that won't start and I have isolated the problem down to either the processor or the motherboard, but I can't figure out which.

The problem I'm having is that 1) the computer instantly turns on when I flip the psu switch, but more importantly 2) the computer dies after three seconds being on, no beeps or anything.

If I take all the ram out, it beeps once, then gives a sort of half beep while dying.

If I disconnect the processor power pin, it still dies after three seconds.

If I remove the processor entirely, the computer does not die after three seconds.

This is consistent with three different PSU's that I have tried

Is it the motherboard or the processor that is broken, or is there a different problem?

Is it for $100 at bestbuy? I was basing it off the last time I was there and 220's were like $100, this was about a year ago. I mean on newegg you could get something but Bestbuy is such stuff.
