I would go for a different brand, personally. You could probably find a better deal.

you mean the gpu might be limited by it?
Other way around.

Ordering the parts tomorrow for my first desktop! Any last suggestions, comments, etc?

I already have the GPU, got it dirt-cheap a while back. Sapphire HD Radeon 7770 GHz Edition.

IMO I would get a different case and a larger hard drive.
Maybe even just one 8gb stick of ram for future upgrades.

whats the point
a larger hard drive.
uh i have less than 500gb of stuff on my hd drive and i have like 50 steam games
1 tb is enough

dual channel ram is way faster, so 2x4 makes more sense, and why the forget would you need 16 of ram anyways, unless your into hd video editing

whats the point
I can see what he means by this, I'm limited to only the best of micro-ATX motherboards, as this case doesn't support anything bigger.

I kind of wanted a small, decent looking case. I considered this one at first, but I'd rather have a smaller case just for room purposes, it has to fit on top of this small desk, underneath would not be convenient for my setup.

How much do you think getting a laptop that's 529.99 from newegg mailed to Winnipeg Manitoba (Canada) would be with shipping and all?

Thats what I'm going with, all I need is a CD/DVD drive, any suggestions that will be compatible with this build?

Also I'm wondering if all of that will work together
Before you start with stuff:
1. Yes I know its DDR3 Vram and not DDR5, don't suggest me a new GPU.
2. No I don't want a SSD, I'm fine with what is there, I don't care for 5 second start up time.
3. Don't suggest me anything over priced and redundant

Ok so recently I've been having some lag issues, and I'm not sure what's going on. Every so often in BF3 I'll get slight lag a second or two, then really severe lag for a few seconds, then returning to normal fps. This has happened before on source games, most notably tf2 and cs:go, but those lag spikes stopped when I replaced my card (same exact card, though.) I get no lag at all when playing BF3's campaign or on any other game.

CPU: AMD Phenom x4 965 3.4 ghz
GPU: EVGA Nvidia 9800 GT
RAM: 4 GB (on 32 bit though)

I know the card is dated, but its been able to handle other newer games such as Bioshock Infinite on a medium without issues.

Do you guys have any idea what the problem is?

Guys, I have my exact range.
$500 or less, no exceptions. I talked to my dad and he said that I should just get 6gb of RAM to save money and such. I still have to have a VGA supporting GPU.
Yes I realize it'll be hard to come up with but I need a $500 gaming computer.

I have a keyboard, mouse, and VGA monitor.

why not just get a VGA / DVI adapter instead of getting an older GPU that supports VGA...
