is an SSD worth it?
I'm thinking of getting a 128gb samsung one

Definitely, running mine at only 3 Gbit/s I see a definite performance increase.  Here is how quick my system boots up with my SSD:

I have a 128gb SanDisk in my system, and while I am at it on this post

I did some xmas shopping for presents under the tree to unwrap

I have been playing Blockland for awhile, and I really like a lot of servers but the problem is that I can't run shaders. I actually really do think shaders are an awesome addition to Blockland, and they make servers look pretty and shiny and high quality, but my computer cannot run them. It can only run minimum with a little bit of lag. I am thinking of getting a new graphics card so I can at least run medium-high shaders, and so I can have a more enjoyable experience with other games which I own which run better with more sophisticated graphics. I was just wondering, what graphics card do you guys recommend the most for me? I primarily play Blockland on my Dell PC from about 2011, and my price range is $30-70. My price range is laughable I know, but my budget is tight. Feedback would be helpful!

Well first of all, we need some information, like what motherboard are you using, what is your power supply.

Secondly, your price range is $30-$70, so I doubt you will be able to run shaders on high+, but since it's black november, you might get a sweet deal.

How would I check what motherboard I am using, also what do you mean by power supply?

open up your computer and take a bunch of pictures from different angles so we can see
and the power supply is the box with the fan in the back of your computer, the part into which you plug in your power cable

to check your motherboard model.

1.) Click your start menu.

2.) All programs

3.) Accessories

4.) System tools folder

5.) System information

And open your side panel and look how many wattage it is, it should say on the label or just a big label; ex: "550W".

the thing that the guy is screwing in is the PSU ( Power supply ).

I was able to get a Radeon HD 7770 for $70, which will suit your needs nicely, caribou. That is, if you can find a good deal and get one for that cheap. Also, there might be a newer version of the card, I think?

But yah, the 7770 runs BL on high-max settings at a playable fps.

The plug on my charger broke off so I made my own. :p

can be unplugged with a 4-pin, but they're mostly covered in tape so you can't tell.

All you would gave to do was get a new charger, no need to go through all that trouble.

Also so this post won't be completely useless, could someone find me a good case that's black and blue, has a side viewing panel, and could fit 6-8 hdds, and 3 disc drives?
I'm wanting to go ahead and find a case cause I might be getting a job and in a month I might get a computer.

The laptop is garbage, I woulda trashed it anyway.

Intel i5-2500 @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs)
8gb RAM
GeForce GTX 560
550W PSU

I've had this for two years.

If I was going to upgrade, what should I consider?

Ok. To what?

Would I also need a better PSU? How do you determine how much you need?

Took this from another thread I made, figured it'd be better asking here.
Well after realizing that my laptop is on it's last legs I've thinking about getting a new computer but I'm not sure what to get.

I've been looking at the Cyberpower gaming dragon but I know very little about computers and I know a lot of you are PC gamers and could probably help me with this. If you know of a better computer in the $700 or under range feel free to tell me, I'm not going to be able to build one myself at the moment and I'd prefer to just buy one because I'm an idiot when it comes to putting things together.

But if you think this would be a good choice or know of a better computer, please let me know :)

Also if it helps I already have keyboard, mouse, monitor and speakers covered.

I might just end up getting a PS4, I'm not sure yet.
