Like, you somehow got a hold of a really old CAT 4 cable or some stuff.

780 is way better at anisotropic filtering.

290 is way better at high resolutions.

So if you want to play with insanely high resolution, or with 3 monitors, the 290 is a better purchase. I think the 780 isn't worth the extra $200 though, the 290x is amazing enough.

I have 2 monitors and 1 TV thatll be hooked up but I don't plan with playing across all 3.

Right now, they're roughly the same price, depending on how long OC UK keep their price discounted. I think I'll probably wait it out for the custom 290x's tho

If you are willing to sacrifice noise/thermals for performance, go with the 290X
If you want a very good gpu but don't want to sacrifice for it, go with the 780

im planning to secretly downgrade my parents tv package and upgrade the internet to 105 Mbps
they wont even notice because there is a minute difference of $1 and they dont even watch the HD channels
