you can get adapters for your IDE, ps/2 mouse, and even your floppy if ya want. the other stuff should work assuming they use PCI ports.
also if you're planning to boot up win98 on this new pc be warned: 98 doesn't like big amounts of ram (or so i've heard).
That happened to me once. Use a knife to straighten out the pins. I'm currently using the CPU that had a silimar incident.
woah, ghetto...

Removing one of the 2 RAM cards is enough. Win98 works well with 512MBs and 1GHz. So does XP. 7, on the other hand... I think the main problem would be the x64 architecture of the Intel. Win98 is 16/32 hybrid. I'll just keep this PC around instead of selling it.

How else would you straighten them out?

Mail me trashed processors. I pay 5 bucks plus shipping for em

What would you like? Intel Pentium 600MHz or AMD Sempron 1GHz?

I suppose, a small anxiety of mine is just having something go wrong and not knowing what to do to fix the issue. Even though I still would prefer a rebuild, any suggestions for a good build at around 500$-600$? I've been looking on the net but it would be nice to see some suggestions from you guys. Also I would like an OS included with the build.
pls halp :c

solid. much love for the 9X era.

most people consider those forgeted and just trash em or something.

What a waste of cash.

Nal, how did that happen, anyways? My sempron's heat sink snapped and the pins got bent when it hit the Mobo.

All. I recycle em

And I collect them. I've got an Intel Pentium 600MHz, the Sempron which I currently use on one PC and a very oldass Intel CPU that I don't remember the name of it that came with one of the first Compaq laptops.

All. I recycle em
When you say 'recycle', are you talking about gold recovery? In that case, don't bother; it's not worth the time and effort. The earnings are none-existant unless you go full industrial scale, not to mention you'll probably kill yourself with the chemicals. Tom's hardware conducted an experiment with recovering gold from processors and motherboards; both can be found here:

Of course, if you're just selling old hardware to recycling companies that's a whole different story. Just remember to put away all the collectables, such as rare and/or high-end parts, for collectors and enthusiasts.
The serial/parallel card uses an ISA connector, so that won't fit, and there aren't enough PCI slots to fit all of the other cards. Also, if you're planning to get W98 running on that system you're outta luck. There won't be any drivers for the motherboard chipset or the video card, and W98 has no support at all for PCI-e and SATA, or UEFI for that matter. You'd be better off keeping your old PC as a secondary

That was always part of the plan. Thing is, now I need to buy a new drive becaus-

Can't I use my external drive as C:\ ?

I've seen Linux running on an external hard drive, but I doubt it will work on Windows. Not that you'd want to, because HDD performance will most likely suffer, especially if your external only uses USB 2.0. Really, if you can't afford a $90 hard drive you shouldn't spend almost $700 on a video card.
Btw, I looked a little at your build, and saw that Micro Center has a combo deal with your mobo and CPU. It's $85 less than buying them from the current stores, and you'll save $80 more if you get the 4670k instead, which is only mariginally slower than the 4770k.
