Well, my dad uses it for his server and it didn't die yet. I've had a good experience with Seagate's drives. Not so good with WD's drives.

Holy stuff, that's pretty high.
Buy a hitachi. Case closed.

my Seagate external HDD has been running for almost a year constantly and has not had any issues.

I've been running a wd green for near 4 and I'm fine with it too

I haven't had any issues with my internal Seagate IDE since 2008 but my first WD drive died on me in months.

my seagate died within 2 years

so i bought a pack of 2 coolermaster fans. i was starting to screw it in, and i couldnt even get it started, it seemed like the screws that came with it were too big, so they won't even go in. would self tapping screws work, or no?

-snoop-

Please note the list on the right side of the graph; it is constructed only from a small product sample range and only counts drives that have failed while in use by their backup service. A lot of drives aren't on their list, WD Black drives for example. (not directed at Nal, just a general heads-up to prevent this from skewing HDD preferences)

also. i only have one fan for the rear, should i use it for intake or exhaust?

Top and back should be exhaust, front and bottom should be intake

The screws that come with fans are self-tapping, the fans don't have any threads in the screwholes until you put the screws in

speaking of which, the fans on my case aren't on because there isn't any connector for my front fan. is that a bad thing? my temps are fine from what I see

I didn't have the self control to wait until the new case or cooling system came in to try the new processor and mobo. i7 4790k and Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3.

Use a cardboard box. It works just as fine. :cookieMonster:
