I took your guys' recommendation about the upgrade to my graphics card, and I couldn't be happier with the result!

But now, I have one more blockade until I can run most of anything, the CPU. As always, I suck with computers so I'm hoping you can help me out! The price range for this should be maybe $150-200.

So I'm trying to run Beam.ng Drive on my new computer. I saw somewhere the game prefers a quad processor and if I recall correctly my computer has a six core. I can run the game on low detail maps with ease but only on the lowest quality. If I run a detailed map with lowest, it still lags. If I load up more than one vehicle, it lags. Can this be explained, how this makes sense?

Because more cores =/= better performance. Considering you have 6 cores and its still running like stuff, you have an OLD amd cpu. Also, iirc when they mention "prefers quad core" i think its going by intel quad cores, which are noticeably "better" than amd quad cores. it has something to do with quantity over quality with AMD vs Intel cpus.

That's awesome! Also, are your icons very big, or is your monitor quite small? (Or neither!)

Also, what is the difference between these two i5s, as the 'statistically' better one is cheaper...

Core i5-4460 (One I'm looking to get)

Core i5-4590 (One I found a minute ago)

However the second one looks rather sketchy...
The second CPU is a 'tray' model which doesn't come with a cooler. There is a 'boxed' version that does and I suggest that you get it instead since it's slightly faster and practically the same price: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00K5J22GG/ref=s9_simh_hm_bT0akp_d0_g147_i6

If this helps
Meh, I don't think that helps a lot since our model version is this one: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121690&cm_re=asus_GTX_560-_-14-121-690-_-Product

it's out of stock right now but I believe the price point was somewhere around $210

what kinda performance increase could I get moving from a GTX 560 to a GTX 960
much

the monitor looks super tiny

the model is close enough to compare

overall it's a four year advance in the card and bolsters pretty much everything

960-560

Got a 750GB 7200 RPM WD Black for my laptop, but instead rather, give it to my Mac Pro and take it's 250GB 850 Evo and give it to my laptop to upgrade it's former 1TB 5400 RPM drive.

It's quite amazing to see what goes on inside a laptop and the craftsmanship that goes into the design of each piece to fit everything into a specific spot.

Well I just got a new Corsair H55 and right now my CPU is sitting around 39c with no load other than Microsoft Edge and steam running in the background.

Does anyone have any recommendations for my predicament?

You already have the fastest CPU your motherboard supports, so if you want something better you need to replace that as well. If you can stretch your budget to $220 you can get a B85 motherboard and a Core i5:

Prebuilding pc for a friend who has little to no knowledge of PC's.

Is this compitable? Also his budget is €800
