I don't think it takes in to consideration how many of these drives exist. If there's much less Hitachi drives then there will be less to fail.
That's not what it's measuring
it's measuring the average probability of one of their harddrives failing in a given year, so every year you have a seagate you have a ~10% chance of that drive failing, and with WD you have ~3% chance of failure

Well i blew a new mobo somehow. It worked fine when i tested. But when everything is together it wont take power any longer. Ill prob reassemble it all on a table for 1 more test before i toss it in the trash. ; ;

Rip. Tiny towers are p cool imo but is stuff for cable and you cant get an ATX in it :(.
Good luck and I hope your thing is okay.

Worst case should be just a new psu or mobo. I can live with that

Do what everyone else does and claim it was DOA.

so I installed Arch Linux on this machine and unfortunately it seems like it wouldn't run my steam games without having the GPU heat up to 83C+. Then it'd throttle and the game would freeze and show some screen tearing. I had the proprietary NVIDIA drivers installed and all, also had fans running on max. the game in question is borderlands 2. I don't think I'll be able to use GNU/Linux on this machine for gaming

So you're saying that your Linux system doesn't play your Windows optimized games correctly?
Shocking.

borderlands 2 is a steamOS game though so it really /should/ be optimized

linux hater spotted

Less than 1% of Steam users are running Linux so naturally a developer isn't going to spend as much time and money porting to Linux as to Windows.

Why do you have 32GB RAM?

why would yopu get 32gb of ram and a 6600 but not a 980 or 980 ti?
