Yeah, they should be updated. I have noticed a few things that had gone old.
For example:

"Do you know what happens when the clock reaches 99:99? (Bedroom clock) I know, but I wont tell!"

We don't have maps anymore so eh...
And then, these different kinds of IRC things:

"Did you know that you can double-click a person's name in the IRC to have a private chat with them?

IRC was gone a long time ago. I think ephialtes should really update these tips along with the next update.

EDIT: I was trying to get footage of some of the tips, but its one hell of a job starting and stopping the server or just joining and leaving another people's server.

I don't want to trash him, I just would want to avoid some confusion with the beginners, as they wonder where the hell do I find a clock, or what the hell is IRC.

Most new users dont have rtb or if they do probably have enough since to figure it out.

If someone cleans out the mac files I removed all the stuff and put in something about gamemodes, enviroments, i changed the thing about /me to say "chat rooms" not IRC, and I said for one something about joining other people's servers via Connect.
