I don't get it, he doesn't believe in abortion so he wants to make sure none of his employees can choose to get an abortion? That's the least American thing I've ever heard lol. He can be Christian and he can disprove of abortion but he can't force his beliefs on his employees if he gives them healthcare they have the right to use it based on their own beliefs as it is their health and their circumstance.
edit never mind

Yeah, that guy is a joke when it comes to freedom of religion.
Do you guys understand that these laws are forcing him to go against his religion?  Christians are absolutely serious about defending all forms of life, "from conception to natural death".  They strictly oppose contraception absolutely because they do not want to prevent the natural creation of life.  Hate it all you want but this IS what they believe (and if you do hate it just don't be a Christian holy stuff it's not that hard).

So basically the government is telling him "hey guess what?  You HAVE to support the payment of contraceptives (the thing you can't use according to your religion) for your employees!  And if you don't we'll drop fines on you like crazy."  Imagine if the government told a Mulism store-owner that he has to sell pork no matter what.

I'm pretty sure this went to the supreme court already and it was deemed constitutional. Also only loving handicaps believe life begins at conception.

Many of you also have no understanding of how the government works, you're all just mad that some poor person gets a little help to loving survive. Welfare sure allows those people to live the loving high life.

Replace contraceptives with "medical care" and he's suddenly a richard. Wait, I'm onto something!

Do you guys understand that these laws are forcing him to go against his religion?  Greenians are absolutely serious about defending all natural healing.  They strictly oppose medical care absolutely because they do not want to prevent the natural healing of one's body.  Hate it all you want but this IS what they believe (and if you do hate it just don't be a Greenian holy stuff it's not that hard).

yeah but its like trying to give welfare to black people. I understand its for people looking for jobs but its rediculous how people take advantage of it
lol like white people dont get welfare or take advantage of it.

ITT:  regular /r/atheism browsers who have no concept of "respecting other people's religious views provided they don't conflict with their own".

If you want abortion pills go work for a secular owner.  It's like purposely going to a non-secular college/university and complaining about how much you hate religion there.

Ok, i'm just ignorant. I'm so wrong and hate people that have religious beliefs. YOU GOT ME!

the problem is not in the personal beliefs of the entrepreneur in question. it's a matter of the federal government's ability to have federally mandated coverage of something that is totally beyond the bounds of the federal government to enforce, hell, even in the states. whether or not you support the measure personally is irrelevant, it's a matter of whether it's legal.

and therein lies the rub.

and therein lies the rub.

How so? It's already been said it's constitutional. I don't seem to see the real problem, just people mad that they lost.

it was only found constitutional via the generic commerce clause argument, it hasn't been tried on religious purposes you big dummy

It's ridiculous to be forced to pay more for care that you won't even use if you're against it.

It must be easy for a male to make decisions for a female...

I think an individual has a right to contraception and it is not the responsibility of a company to provide it.  This CEO is doing what he feels is right and justified.
