Did you even read the loving thread?

So we can no longer share games? That sucks :/

sony files a ton of patents and they only use a few of them

i wouldnt be worried

Piracy can actually be good in certain cases, when it promotes publicity of a game, causing people to want to support it by actually buying it. More people will mod it too which means its popularity goes even higher. This is only beneficial to an extent, though.

Usually to an extent that isn't worth noting. Barely beneficial does not make it justified.

If it'll mean the end of Gamestop I'm all for it.
I feel that this should be noticed

it will. hooray!

Lord Tony:

We might aswell ban the right to resell cars/vehicles/houses because the people who made them wont get money out of the resale.
You can only buy a new house. Or a new car for full price. Imagine how that sounds now.

When you buy something, it is YOURS unless the company deems it theirs and they are just letting you use it.

You have the right to resell anything you own. Besides, they cant just up and update the pre existing consoles even if it does pass. So any games made up to that point, would be still able to be resold.
Except you own a car / house. You own a license to a game. When you buy software, you buy a license, not the software.
For Example:
Quote from: Blockland EULA
2. Grant of License.

Step 1: Games grants you the nontransferable, nonexclusive right to use the Software in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.

YOU MAY: (i) load the software into RAM as well as install it on a hard disk or other storage device, and (ii) make one copy for backup purposes.

YOU MAY NOT: modify, translate, disassemble, reverse engineer, or decompile the Software.  Any derivative works become property of Step 1: Games.
I mean come on, it is even titled License Agreement.

This entire thread is filled with people who know nothing about digital purchases or people who feel it is okay to steal from someone because they are rich enough to not go bankrupt.

I feel like using the license issue for console games is different than a pc or any digital form of media. For a console you need the disc or else it won't work. With a computer game you just install it and you always have it.

Pretty much what I already said, but no one will ever listen. lol

i should resell a driver's license

Remember when Sony wanted to interrupt gameplay with comericials?

Having a patent =/= actually implementing it

That's like saying someone who owns a gun will no doubt go hunting and kill something.

They refuse to break away from the crowd logic that "SONY IS THE WORST COMPANY AND ALSO THE ANTICHRIST!"
