Author Topic: 2nd petition to revoke Ephialtes' adminship  (Read 48389 times)

prrrrrrobably one of the dumbest things i've seen on this forum in a really long time
"what are you talking about, who cares about morals, how's it wrong to shoot this guy in the face"

I didn't say morals don't matter. I said it's impossible to argue about them because they're subjective. For example, I bet most of you would say it's moral to shoot Riddler in the face.

Jacksaunt, the national socialists didnt care for cigarettes too much.

;)

But seriously, this is more like the 6th petition. Ephi isnt even as bad as some of a our regular forumers, so im not seeing the problem. :/

The fact that Ephi is a moderator who seems to have used his powers in a morally wrong way is the problem at hand.

With the above line i also indeed agree on the point that it is a case of morally wrong usage of his powers.
However, someone with more power should sort of behave like a moral compass for the others.
Not that every moderator should be friggin' holy, but still.
Moral does mater in this case, in fact, especially in this case.

If people with more power start acting like douchebags while their position is to deal with such people, does he deserve that place?
Does he deserve such powers?
Now, Ephi is not all bad.

In fact, i am sure that the amount of such similar incidents (not involving the complete drama around this) is very small.
Ephi generally does what a man in his position on this forum should do.
However, the part where he completely blows Kalphiter's posts of the forums and then does about the same or allows his colleague to do so in Kalphiter's topic is kind of weird to say the least.
Morally wrong is one way to say this, but using his powers in his position, is kind of the same as abusing his powers to me.

On the topic of morality of shooting Riddler in the face, yes, it would be moral if you would consider the amount of people he directly and/or indirectly killed, however, if you would only take him as human in consideration, then indeed, it is not morally right to shoot him in the face.

Morality is indeed quite arguable.

No, morality is not arguable. Why would you leave a hanging statement like that, especially after providing evidence for me to prove my point?

This statement itself proves that morality is arbitrary. There are exceptions everywhere, and the exceptions are arbitrarily defined. At what point does it become moral to kill someone? After they've molested children? Killed a person? How about two? These are questions that can never be answered, because it's purely arbitrary. If someone killed your brother, you would say it's moral for them to be killed for it. However, to some random bystander, the person may have only committed one offense and thus deserves a long time in jail but not death. There is no direct "right" and "wrong" with morals either. One can be a terrorist or a freedom fighter. There's two sides to every story. To terrorists, killing masses of humans is moral because they believe their god dictates that to be moral. To us, it's immoral because you're killing thousands of people. It's a clusterforget, and it cannot be argued because each potential argument is just as strong as the counterargument, because neither has any backing.

Furthermore, it's not a question of if Ephialtes deserves admin. It doesn't matter. As I said, it cannot be taken away. Crying in a thread about it won't get it taken away, regardless of how many petitions you start.

guys, your onions are rong

Arguments keep pushing in the direction of "it doesn't matter" and "no one cares". I think it's clear why this is happening.

Others tried stating their opinions and all you do is reply with something along the lines of "Everyone who think Ephialtes should stay a mod is an ignorant dumbass." You are not willing to accept opinions against yours so why even bother.

And which moderator of ours conducts in "completely losing their stuff" ever?
Ephi has before, being overly hostile in a variety of cases.

Did some 5th grade teacher tell you that all opinions deserve to be respected in the sense that the possible causes of such an opinion may not be stated?

Blockland Admins can read all of the deleted things. So Badspot has probably already read the petitions. Nice try.

Insulting someone as a "possible cause" is bullstuff and you know it. Stop playing dumb, I know you're not quite that bad.

Oh hey, why has nobody realized this yet?

There weren't any deleted petitions. Only deleted posts and drama threads.

Still waiting for the display of all deleted posts from Ephialtes...
