Author Topic: Game developers and reintroducing classic consoles  (Read 2137 times)

The audience isn't meant to be those people it's meant for people that have a deep nostalgia for those sorts of games.
that deep nostalgia doesn't last long enough to make an industry out of.

Pier Solar was a game made in 2010 for the Sega Genesis.

Also, the reason that physical classic consoles will never be reintroduced (Aside for nostalgic value) is because the existence of emulators and backwards compatibility.

I bought an NES (EN-E-ES) for 70€ and an SNES (ES-EN-E-S) for 110€ with 10 games along with it.

I highly doubt that an NES would sell for hundreds of dollars on Ebay. Maybe if it was an unopened CIB version and not a loose one it would sell for a two hundred.

The most pricy thing i ownis probably Flintstones: surprise at dinosaur peak. Those in box are valued for about 600$ according to some websites.

Yeah but no really, someone buy a console and never open it. Then hold onto it for 40 years and bewm.

I would love to have a classic nitendo system.
Maybe not an atari, but nitendo could be ligitimently fun and a classic peice of history.

I still have my old consoles and a buttload of games, pay me as much as you want I WILL NEVER SELL THEM!

Except classic games suck compared to now games.

I often prefer less graphically astounding games because they're often more complex and rich in content. Dwarf Fortress is a good example. If I could ever figure out how not to be that game's bitch.

I found a $100 dollar one on Ebay au but it came with 9 games, still nothing like tens of thousands
If you'd pay $100 for an NES and only 9 games, you're a fool.

You got ripped off

I've been thinking about this too but the concept I had in mind as a little different. I was designing this console called the "SunDog", but instead of just supporting classic/retro games, it would also support cartridge versions of today's Modern games. There's something about cartridges that make them fun to collect.

it would also support cartridge versions of today's Modern games.
That would be really expensive

Sega genasis games are like 50 cents here.
