You're acting like the US is spending it all on trivial things. Sure there are many programs to cut but a lot of money goes into programs people need to survive. I forgot what it was called but learned of it in my US government class, it was that any time someone wanted to pass a bill that would increase spending some source of revenue had to be included to offset spending.
A lot of our debt is from social security and the interest on the debt, not just trivial programs.
It doesn't matter what they are spending it on, they are spending too much. Slash expenses all over the board. And the US is spending loads on trivial things anyway. There is a plant in the United States that is building tons of tanks for the military, the thing is, the Army told them they don't want any more tanks. The Army has thousands of tanks in storage right now. The plant is being kept alive for 80 jobs and because some company lobbied to get the contract.
That is just one case. I'm sure if you really looked into it, you could probably cut billions of dollars in spending before you even had to touch something that was actually being spent on something useful.
