Author Topic: AT&T/U-verse sucks really hard  (Read 1197 times)

who thought that it would be a good idea to connect the tv, phone, and internet to one central hub

aka if the tv dies, phones and internet dies

u-verse, you suck  :iceCream:

my phone and internet are through the same place and it sucks..

I have U-verse and that does not happen to me.

AT&T is not good at anything they do, but most especially any home services they provide.  I don't know why people even bother with their home services, their cellular services are even worse.

AT&T has improved their 3G speeds and area coverage considerably over the past couple years, though.

I have U-verse and it has been sucking stuff for like 3 years. Probably the stufftiest of all internet/phone services know to man

Do any of you ever lose your internet connection when someone's on the phone,
a la Dial-up style?

I have U-Verse and it's great, extremely good value for the price.

I disagree. I have both AT&T celluar and AT&T U-verse home services. I get acceptably fast internet speeds (about 1.9-2.0 MBps) for downloads and my upload is acceptable for a residential connection. I feel like the OP's problem is a bit dumb-- if you lose TV it's probably because a line went down somewhere which means more than likely you'd lose phone and internet too. Regardless, I can't think of a single time I've lost service and I've been with them for 4ish years. As far as phone goes, I get LTE coverage nearly everywhere I go and the only dead zone anywhere near me is in my school, a building made entirely out of very thick bricks.

AT&T shillz in tha hose

I have AT&T U-verse for internet only, and it really isn't good at all. The speed is mediocre (350kb/s download, don't even ask about the upload speed), and they made us pay for huge, unnecessary, expensive, and unhelpful router. The router also forced us to install some software to 'activate' it. Malwarebytes detected the software as a backdoor trojan. Nearby cable companies (Comcast) offers a much higher speed for the same price, but I cannot convince my mother to switch to something else because she'll lose the email account she has via sbcglobal.net, and she doesn't want to go through the simple process of importing everything to a new account on a free host.

AT&T is awesome because they don't send threatening emails about things you download.

That is all.

Peerblock gets annoying when it automatically blocks sites that I normally use, but I'll re-enable if it's that big.

They watch with me if they want.

It's all good.
