I always thought Industrial used machine sounds like metal clanging, steam, and wrench clicks. What you made seems more like trance. It's very Tron-sounding.

No, what you're describing is not EBM/Industrial as far as it's generally categorized.

Woah, did I accidentally lock this?

When it comes to electronic music, genres are just stupid and confusing.  Like how house is suddenly EDM and how acid house and older DnB is now IDM (How are they "intelligent", anyway?).  Industrial is a blanket term for music with a distinct harsh sound.  It doesn't specifically mean electronic though.

As for the actual song, it's pretty generic.  Nice as stock music or something, but maybe you should experiment a bit with some original sounds such as odd bit-crushed recordings.

Now Marcem has given the best loving reply and advice I've seen all day, forget yeah, you go Marcem.

Also don't forget that generic never necessarily means bad, Tyler.

I like it, it has that old flash game kind of sound to it.

thanks for spoiling whale wars for me >:(

It seems as if you are trying to find a direction to go, from what I have heard you are really good with the Kraftwerk style factory.

It sounds like it would be good as some sort of battle music in Blockland, I like it a bit.

It's called industrial because it's beats are so fresh they can't be reproduced in a factory

this, i wouldn't call it industrial

some sort of acid genre if anything, probably just hard trance

still sounds pretty decent though, needs more sub bass during the chorus.

I was expecting train tracks

laughing and facepalming at the same time

It's much more industrial EBM than anything else, you have the kick right, I like the synths, it just needs more. More percussion, specific sections (like a hook part/chorus) and just. a lot more going on. it's a good start though. also don't forget a bassline.super important.
