Author Topic: PSU Problem  (Read 555 times)

Hi once again, sorry for asking about another computer problem.
I seemed to have fixed the last one, but now another has risen.

I was finishing installing the new PSU (plugging in stuff, etc)
And I ran into a problem.  When I was connecting the disk drive to the motherboard, the PSU stopped working.  The fan wouldn't turn on, wouldn't spin even once, make a noise, nothing.
I disconnected that motherboard wire, and it still did not work.  Disconnected every PSU wire, didn't work.  Tried a different cord, did not work.

I cannot seem to figure out what to do at this point ;~;

PSU: X-Power 585
Motherboard: (from Acer Veriton X275)

PS
I don't want to open it up, as it will void the warranty

Don't ever open up a psu, it's dangerous.

well, wasn't planning on it

That brand of PSU came out like 5 years ago. It's probably dead.

bought it about 2 days ago on NewEgg

EDIT: and it worked before this whole problem started.  Fans spinning, LEDs lighting up, etc

I have posted two today.  That megathread is a piece of stuff when it comes to help.  Your problem gets discussed once before it gets ignored, and never brought up again.  The thread is good if you are building a computer, not if you have problems with one.

We just solved a problem somebody was having in there.

Are you stupid? Every time I ask for help or advice people help me, and i've seen it with others as well.  You just need to learn to wait.

I have had two problems that I voiced in that thread.  I had waited two days, even quoted it after those two days and didn't get one response.  I'm happy that, that thread was helpful towards you, but I had absolutely no help whatsoever within there.

Could you try to send your PSU back to Newegg and get a replacement?

Just tested the psu with the paper clip trick and it worked perfectly. Meaning it is a problem with the motherboard instead :c
