Difference between photoshop CS2 and CS4?

I recently installed photoshop CS2 because it was put up for free on adobe's website. My school uses photoshop CS4, and I was taught to use photoshop in that.

What are the main differences, in terms of features?

What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don’t require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. Anyway, I'm in the same boat as you. You'll notice that they are very similar. The main difference I see is accessibility, things are in different places. Other than that, if you know one learning the other is easy.

Adobe is handicapped that they put their stuff up on their website expecting people to not download it for free but they did not make it free.

because as far as adobe is concerned, you are only legally entitled to download that software if you have purchased it and are unable to activate it due to the CS2 validation servers being taken offline last month
