Poll

Poll • Military Weapons

Keep the military weapons to intensify and create chaotic combat.
Cut down on military weapons to keep realism and make finding guns very serious.

i was thinking.. how many testers are probably going to be playing at once? should we just use that small island for testing? would accelerate testing so we could get a handle on any bugs more quickly, smooth stuff out a bit. this would also keep the testers from getting too much of an edge on everyone else when the server opens

i havent built that much, just made barely any terrain and some forests.. if you want i could try to push and get that island done more quickly

ALSO, since rusty's server is gone (and i havent saved the map in a while) im missing some stuff. if someone could pm me the latest version, id appreciate it

Since Rusty was hosting, he probably has the save since there was an auto saver. So yeah, ask Rusty.

I would imagine that we play on the map, just a large amount of people who try to break the game as much as possible. You have a point though that they will have an edge but I don't think that will be a big deal, we'll see when I come home.

hi i would like to become oficial dayb builder pls

I'm home.  :cookie:

It's time to work boys! I'll update the OP when I come home, just got my baggage and food.

this is Cohort ;P
Mhmm! This is supported by Cohort, Sylvanor you can help if you want by the way, tell anyone else in the clan.

What's on the poll exactly? I'll explain right now.

Client side GUI:
This is your typical downloadable GUI that you can use to enhance gameplay. It would feature inventory management and small little features you can use to make gameplay more fun- it's fairly easily to understand, yes? Lets move on ...

Default GUI:
This is going to be rather confusing to explain so I'll try my best. The day before Shappeh found a neat little way to use Blockland's default minigame menu as an inventory. This sounds crazy, I know, but it's very simple once you catch on.

So Blockland has a minigame list sort of thing, when you open minigames from the menu you'll get that list. From that list it lets you join, leave, and create/edit the minigames, but we thought why not put this to use? The minigames would serve as "items", these "items" could be used by clicked "join" or could be used by clicking "leave". You can also open your backpack by hitting "create/edit" which would list the items in your backpack. The "items" would be shown in various ways, by color, by name, by amount and so on.

I'll post a mockup later today on what an inventory would look like.

Can we add an option for both? Forcing players to download a "Custom GUI" before they can join the server is cruel, but some players might still want the advantages it brings.

Also note that the Custom GUI will work much like the "Default GUI" Derroith explained to avoid giving Custom GUI-users too much of an advantage.

sounds really interesting, id love to see it.. i would help build but i dont see a server, is there one?

With the downloadable GUI you have the ability to make it a lot more aesthetically pleasing, like making it look like actual DayZ's inventory.  you could have sections for different things and a little description for each item instead of just a list of items and no details about the item.

We got a RTB server thanks to Sylvanor!!

Hugs and kisses to Sylvanor! :^)

This.

I voted for the default one, but on further reading, however interesting the default one sounds, it would be more practical to use the downloadable and more aesthetic GUI.

You probably should use both, people who don't have the client UI downloaded use the minigame one.
