For the magic mod, if you want some intricate stuff for more powerful spells, I was suggesting making Power Cirlce / Power ring decals.
Example of a simple one, a single circle
Something like this would appear at your feet when casting a powerful spell let's say. From there you can make it spin slowly on creation, rise slowly, or make an emitter that spurts out several of them for different effects. Because of the small number of these that would be generated in most cases, lag would be nill.
More intricate stuff involves several particles, central Circle particles and outer Ring particles.
This could easily be a basic set of 2 emitters, emitting 2 stand-alone particles that spin in the opposite direction.
I'll make a couple experimental explosion effects and Charge Up effects using the Ring and Dot particle decals, and you guys will get an idea of what kind of funkyness can be unleashed with this stuff.
These decals would not need to be specific in any ways, just need to look magical or neatly geometrical, then some small runes or figures here and there at specific spots to complete the picture. This is my suggestion but it's your choice. I don't recall seeing this in the Movies so.
