Author Topic: Random insomnia?  (Read 1625 times)

Hey guys. Tonight i'm losing my loving mind due to the fact that I can't sleep for more than 2 hours without waking up. It's 3AM right now and i've got school at 7. The night before, I didn't go to sleep until around 4am and woke up at 7am, mostly because my sleeping schedule was a bit messed up over the weekend. The whole day I felt fine up until around the time I got home from my friends house, it was around 8PM and I was going to fall asleep. I was just hit with nausea and loss of appetite. I ignored the symptoms and fell asleep. Two hours later, I woke up at 11, I didn't think much of it, thought maybe it's because I was hungry. I ate something and went back to sleep. Now it's 3AM and I can't seem to fall back asleep. Anyone know if my sleep deprivation from the night before may have caused this?

Seriously, i'm scared stuffless.

When you wake up do you feel fully rested, or are you tired but simply can't sleep?

I'm really not sure. I guess tired but simply can't sleep.

You've entered the Twilight Zone. Everything you do from this point on will be in a different world, but will ultimately decide whether or not you will make it out alive.

Good luck - you'll need it.

It sounds like you just have a case of acute insomnia. At some point in the next week your sleep should return to normal. Most people have episodes of acute insomnia in their lifetime. Don't worry about it.

Man I really hope so. I'm gonna try to go back to sleep, wish me luck.

I'm having something similar, I read a couple creepypastas and now i cant sleep. It's not the creepypastas, but my mind running away with them and me creeping myself out. Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah. Drink something warm, read a book (or something off your phone, preferably not creepypastas) and stay off the Blockland forum.

acute = short term
insomnia = inability to sleep

Thanks.

> Don't eat within 1 to 2 hours of sleep, massive no no
> Don't drink anything sugary during or before sleep preferably
> Don't consume anything with caffeine in for at least 4 hours, ideally 8 hours before sleep-- people think the affects of caffeine only last a couple hours but they can subtly span out for an entire day, enough to forget sleep
> Block out any light sources-- light from a bright alarm clock or a mobile phone is a sleep killer for most people
> Block out any sound sources that might irritate you if possible
> Make sure you aren't dehydrated, and you aren't too hot or cold
> Don't exercise before sleep
> Make sure you diet is decent, poor eating can mess up sleep more than people realize
> Force yourself to go to bed and wake up at the same time, even if you don't sleep, it can take a while
> Don't use computer screens an hour before bed ideally, this will affect quality of sleep or delay it

You might want to try Melatonin if this becomes recurring.

Use it sparingly though.

It naturally occurs in cherries which might help if you want to be passive about it too.

I always put a nice warm plastic bag over my head before i go to sleep.

Something is happening in your room to make you wake up, maybe it's haunted
