> Don't eat within 1 to 2 hours of sleep, massive no no
> Don't drink anything sugary during or before sleep preferably
> Don't consume anything with caffeine in for at least 4 hours, ideally 8 hours before sleep-- people think the affects of caffeine only last a couple hours but they can subtly span out for an entire day, enough to forget sleep
> Block out any light sources-- light from a bright alarm clock or a mobile phone is a sleep killer for most people
> Block out any sound sources that might irritate you if possible
> Make sure you aren't dehydrated, and you aren't too hot or cold
> Don't exercise before sleep
> Make sure you diet is decent, poor eating can mess up sleep more than people realize
> Force yourself to go to bed and wake up at the same time, even if you don't sleep, it can take a while
> Don't use computer screens an hour before bed ideally, this will affect quality of sleep or delay it
