Malware on a Topic?

So i was browsing the forums having a good old time when i went to a certain page of the pony topic and got this.


I allowed the page because i thought i'd try to see what was wrong on the page. All i saw was a few images posted by Regulith that were broken and that was pretty much it.

Being concerned i started up MalwareBytes and took a scan to find that i had received a trojan from the page.


What the hell is up with that?

Also did it only happen to me?

chrome only flags the linked pages on this as malware, because the site hosting the images has had third party malware injections into the site in the past. the site itself was technically clean, but you could still potentially get infected.

So i guess i'll just avoid Regulith's broken images from hell.
