You do realize that at some point gravity stops its effect?

That's why astronauts can do a 0 gravity spacewalk.
No, gravity is about 90% in Earth orbit. Gravity never stops.

Edit: For example, the ISS orbits somewhere around 350km. That's 89.99% of gravitational force at the Earth's surface.
