I jam the button for flares, and the missile flies toward the nearest patch of wheat.
I push the power lever even further, and the afterburners roar to life. I fire my cannons, compensating for gravity and speed.

I come running back inside to alert command and the ground crews. "Enemy fighters in our airspace, someone get SAM coverage immediately! I need crewmen to help me load up a fighter, let's go!"

After getting the EF2000 supplied, I race through the checklist and get clearance from the tower to take off. Putting my engines on reheat, I fly in the direction of Dust and Peregrine, and spot the bandits.

"Saber 1, tally three! Engaging offensive in angels 10!" I lock up a fighter with my IRST and fire off a sidewinder. "Fox 2 medium!"

I grunt, "Vy dvoye vernutʹsya na bazu, ya budu derzhatʹ ikh pokinut'!" My two wingmen break off together towards the base. I dump my countermeasures and roll left bringing myself into a dive.

I follow his dive, and lock on with a heat seeker. That buzz is all too familiar.
"Ha."
I fire the heat seeker, and let it tail the lead.
"Fox 2."

I tear off my oxygen mask, "derʹmo." I manage to say. I pull back on the throttle and pull hard on the stick. The missile barely misses my left engine. I realize I'm stalling and push the throttle falling into a dive.

Crap.

I hear enemy fighters, and head for the source.

When I see 3 enemy fighters, I gun at one, firing a missile. It hits, damaging the engine, soon blowing up.

I then fire two missiles at Mikoyan, but they miss.

"Oh stuff!" "Deploying flares!"

I deploy my flares just in time to evade the missile.

I join up on Wingkicker.

As Zmeya stalls and goes back into a dive, I give a short burst of machine gun fire to his port turbine. I hear the loudest sound on the battlefield: a click.
"stuff, misfire!"
I fire another missile, and a few seconds later my cannon ejects the misfired cartridge.
"Fox 2!"

The two Mig-35 wingmen of my flight was now out of the combat area. Some rounds from the cannon hit their target. As I level out the engine catches fire. The beeps of the warning system stops when I shut down the engine and extinguish the fire. Just as I thought I was out of trouble I notice another blip of a missile on the screen. I try doing my best to distract the missiles flight path, knowing the inevitable.

"Jacov? Did you make that enemy plane catch fire? I'm going after him, this guy has no chance."

"Don't, he's gonna go down. It'd be a waste. Return to base. Hey that rhymed."

The missile drew closer to the back of my aircraft. When I look back, everything seems to be in slow motion. I see the missile break apart and shards of hot metal slam into my vertical stabilizers, starboard engine, and into the inboard fuel tanks. Multiple lights start flashing and unidentifiable beeps begin sounding in the roosterpit. I quickly jettison the canopy and pull the ejector seat levers. Other pilots would see me fall limp out of my seat, slowly gliding towards the ground.
