Microsoft Word is a WhatYouSeeIsWhatYouGet editor. You see your edits visually, and you can edit your document without touching a line of formatting code. Sublime Text is primarily designed for editing code and does not provide such feedback. It merely is a text editor which paints text pretty colors to denote the syntax of different programming languages. Such coloring is easier on the programmer's eyes and it can help catch typeos. Usually the acronym is used when referring to HTML or LaTeX editing as there's no need for a visual editor for a language like Java or C. The program is fundamentally different from a WYSIWYG editor, the judges obviously have no clue what the acronym actually means.

Well, clearly someone needs to be punched in the throat.

...anyway, well done for amazing the judges!

Also I only know what WYSIWYG is because it was compulsory in my ICT course, I feel smart now.

the heck does wysiwyg stand for?
Back in the days before Word if you wanted to write a office document with formatting it would look something like this (That's a webpage. Most document wouldn't of look quite that complex, but you get the idea). But along came various different people who developed editors that let you edit documents as so (That's the same page as the one above), which became known as a "What You See Is What You Get" editors and over time became mainstream.

That's the dumbest thing I've read since an article in yesterday's newspaper. I hope you're going to dispute their decision.

Wow that sucks,
i hope something gets done about it.

Wait, so they expect you to use an editor that doesn't use syntax colouring? The only big ones I know of that don't are the Notepad-esques (and if they say you should make it in that then punch them repeatedly).

my guess is that they expected me to use notepad

Idiots.
Wysiwyg doesn't even make nice stuff anyway.

my guess is that they expected me to use notepad
What the forget, our teacher told us no WYSIWYG editors and let us use Aptana Studio, which does exactly what you have shown there, except without green.
What in the actual forget.

Just proves that the educational system is broken

Just proves that the educational system is broken
And the economy goes low if the educational system has a glitch in it. :P

Why is someone judging a contest that they don't even understand?
