In shortest terms this is what happened:
jailbreaking/unlocking/rooting whatever you call it is now techinically illigeal.
now anonymous like
OH NO U DID NOT
so in protest people are "unlocking" their phones. Tomorrow it will be considered civil disobedience.

Now be a good boy and unlock your phone

Already done. Rooted my phone first thing I got it.

So disobeying "Terms of Use" on a non government product is illegal.

Oh no guys! I promised not to tell my password to anyone!! 10 years in jail!!

>afw

i bet they were waiting for this.

If you have a rooted android phone you can easily root it by looking up simple apps to do so.

Unfortunately there are some apps that forget up your phone. (As in I mean apps you can download with rooted phone)

I got these random shortcuts to websites and "THIS IS NO JOKE YOU ARE THE WINNER!" notifications.

Luckily, the dumb ass program it came from was stupid enough to show the launch screen when I clicked the ad.

There is NO way I'm rooting my brand new iPhone 5

not worth the risk

That's because I was being a dumb forget plus I was on an android.

My iPod was jailbroken and I downloaded a lot of apps with no problems

Gonna root my old iTouch.

forget the government!

I would root my phone but don't feel like voiding the warrant, since I've broke 2 of them in a few months. I also don't use my phone enough to give a stuff about the apps I could use. All I want is the ability to call and text, use the internet, and play solitaire.
