Author Topic: More internet help  (Read 506 times)

Hey guys Dion here just needing more help, didn't know exactly what to google, tried some stuff, didn't work, so I came here. I'll try to simplify this as much as possible.

I have a new router/modem. My old one is coaxial, but my new one is that telephone cable stuff. I don't have that stuff, Charter hooked me up with coaxial. I didn't mean to buy one with the ADSL thing, but I guess I just got that for buying from eBay.

One solution I had is forget the new router, move my old one to the coaxial in my room, but the coaxial in my room doesnt have internet. I looked at the box Charter put outside mah house, and didn't know what to do with it. Probably shouldnt mess with it, but I just want to route the coaxial that DOES have internet service to the one in my room so I can have a direct connection instead of wireless. If you can help with this itd be great too.

The other option is an adapter. Do you guys know of any adapter thats like Coaxial to Telephone line cable?

Thanks!

Adapters may exist, but I suspect that ADSL router isn't suited to handle cable bandwidths.

You might be better off buying a more suitable router. They aren't that expensive.

I know you don't want it, but wireless is your best option. When I lived with my parents we drilled a hole into the wall and then ran a long ethernet cable upstairs and then out another wall which could be another option for you. Having multiple lines activated also usually costs more money.
