Author Topic: Windows Explorer crashes when I do anything on my desktop  (Read 1798 times)

edit:

Woah woah woah
This was not at all windows' fault. Or a virus. (even though i found a few adwares on my adventure)
It was actually something I downloaded.
It didnt like it so I removed the files, it was a desktop thingy, but something else was trying to execute it.
Every time I clicked the desktop, it wouldn't see the files, and it would freak out.
It just told me, "we cnt find so we disable" and it didnt crash anymore.

try running a chkdsk

How often does it crash?

try running a chkdsk
This actually isn't a bad idea if it crashes only when you try and open or operate on files.

...if i click anything, it crashes.

I've had this before.

Reset your computer.

Reset as in, shut down and log back in?
It happened after I did that because Vegas Movie Studio wouldn't start, it wouldn't even pop up, and its still doing it :<
