Blockland Time Traveling ThreadSwimming on the Blockland rowboat in Einstein's river of time!
What is time travel?Time travel is the concept of moving between different points in time in a manner brown townogous to moving between different points in space. Time travel could hypothetically involve moving backward in time to a moment earlier than the starting point, or forward to the future of that point without the need for the traveler to experience the intervening period (at least not at the normal rate). Any technological device – whether fictional or hypothetical – that would be used to achieve time travel is commonly known as a time machine
How the heck would that work out?
Why hasn't anyone come to us from the future yet?I personally have two things to say about that,
first of all:
- It's time travel, what if they did but they didn't want you to know it?
- What if there's something big happening in our future preventing it like a law?
Allow me to explain these theories, the first one is pretty logical on it's own.
If you can go into the past, that's a dangerous power. You can change so many things. Only people who can afford the expensive stuff I can assume would be required to travel through time are probably pretty official. They most likely wouldn't want the public to know about it at any point in time, especially not the past since it could be a hindrance if not stop the time travel in the future date it was meant to happen. That might even cause a paradox since you already traveled back in time causing the problem which stopped you from going back in time, thus you never caused the problem and did go back in time, etc, etc.
The second one may take a bit more explaining. Have you ever heard of the
Riddler's Time Travel Exemption Act? Or maybe
Godwin's Law of Time Travel? Basically it says if you go back in time before WWII, then the national socialist's will win. Seems a little bit paranoid. But in such sensitive situations, paranoia is probably a valid source of caution. If something like that, as nearly
comical or
fictional it seems to the general public is a good rule to keep us from screwing up something really important while time traveling, then what if we're due for another disaster some day? What if we're due for another disaster some day soon? This brings me to
John Titor.
John TitorYes, John Titor.
"Although there is debate over the exact date it started, on November 02, 2000, a person calling themselves Timetravel_0, and later John Titor, started posting on a public forum that he was a time traveler from the year 2036.
One of the first things he did was post pictures of his time machine and its operations manual. As the weeks went by, more and more people began questioning him about why he was here, the physics of time travel and his thoughts about our time. He also posted on other forums including the now non-existent Art Bell site. In his posts John Titor entertained, angered, frightened and even belittled those who engaged him in conversation.
On March 21, 2001, John Titor told us he would be leaving our and returning to 2036. After that, he was never heard from again. Speculation and investigation about who John Titor was and why he was online continues to this day.
Although it may be easy to dismiss all this as science fiction, most people who read his posts agree that there is something very haunting about John Titor and what he said. In addition, and open to more debate, he also made a series of predictions and comments that eerily seem to be coming true.
Unfortunately, I never spoke directly to John Titor but there are many out there who have and continue to wonder about their experience. As you get deeper and deeper into the story, you will find his posts, links to other sites about him, downloads and speculative information attributed to him after he left. I have taken the posts and organized them by date and subject. My editorial work is copyrighted but the unedited posts and the people who experienced it are in the public domain can be found on other sites listed inside.
As you read, please try to keep two things in mind:
1. John appeared to answer nearly every question that was asked of him over the 4-month period he was online. Because of that, many people neglected to read the previous posts and asked similar or exact questions he had already answered. It may offer a glimpse of what a time traveler goes through when having the same conversation again and again.
2. These posts were written before 911, the Discovery accident and the second gulf war. Many people believe John may have known of these events and dropped clues without actually referring to them. It's also widely agreed that he made several predictions about future physics discoveries that have materialized as he stated.
I have included a guest book where you may leave your comments. I will endeavor to respond to any questions you have based on my work.
I hope you enjoy your journey with John Titor.

johntitor.com - THE TIME TRAVEL TALE OF JOHN TITOR
I don't know about you guys but I kind of freaked out when I first researched John Titor. Especially after the last theory I came up with was already in my little time traveling puzzle here, once the next part comes in, everything got really scary. A World War in 2015 that killed (or rather is predicted to kill) nearly 3 billion people.
"We'll begin with one of the few Titor predictions we've yet to reach, simply by virtue of it still being in the future.
John Titor allegedly began his journey in 2036. He'd grown up in Florida, and experienced both a domestic conflict and a worldwide nuclear war. Their effects were disastrous, and much of Titor’s story involves his contempt for the people of our time period; he viewed us as sheep who did nothing to prevent the horrors that followed.
2015 is three years away, and steadily approaching. Is there a scenario brewing that may lead us down this dark path?
In the context of Titor’s predictions, perhaps not - his other, far-reaching statements, such as those about a coming Civil War in the United States, never happened ("There is a Civil War in the United States that starts in 2005"). But modern tensions today that did not exist in 2000-2001 do give pause.
These tensions involve the growing conflict with Iran about their nuclear weapons program, and threats that Israel may launch their own unilateral attack on the country very soon (Read:
Israelis seem resigned to a strike on Iran)
The Middle East, already near the breaking point, has experienced violent protests in Syria and Egypt, and an indefinite occupation of the region by the United States. The situation is already bad, but it's not difficult to imagine it becoming worse. Far worse."
strangerdimensions.com - A Look at John Titor's Most Popular Predictions
Could this not be another reason for time travelers to
not travel back in time before the year 2015? Could our
very existence be endangered? Maybe so. Then again, John Titor said no one in the future likes us. I don't have the exact quote, but it was something along the lines of the people in our time are all jerks. Which is absolutely true. He also pointed out that around 2015 when everything changed (or rather is predicted to change) people started to (or rather are predicted to start to) act more like they do when the power goes out now. They leave their homes and act neighborly to one another.
That's all I have to offer in the thread itself, now if you would all just do me one favor.
Please discuss what you think.
