I don't know the exact desktop or parts, but you can get something like that way cheaper.

Intel Core i7-870

Just why? It's... old...

Also I suggest you change your PSU.

There are good brands out there and bad brands. Bad brands being the ones that blow up.

Why does no one use the computer megathread? We have one for a reason. :\

Lots of outdated parts. Not worth it IMO.

Hmm, interesting...
Did you put it yourself? If so you can try next time to scan the internet for suggestions, research and other specs.

Also the GPU isn't being included in that price for some reason.
It will actually come to somewhere around $1800 after you factor in the GPU.

Not worth it at all.

And after factoring the GPU in you will get such a bad deal because the GTX 580 is a failure in price for what you're getting.

Mine was 1.2G and was still better specs, ya not worth it at all.

Lock this and go to the computer megathread. They have some good suggested builds. You can also ask other people.

seriously
when are you ever going to use 16 GB of memory at once?!

There are video and rendering softwares out there that will eat 16GB of RAM like it's nothing. Don't let the public full you with "no progrum uses moar dan 4GB of rum!!11". That's for gaming. I haven't seen a game need more than 4GB of RAM except Arma II. Which is atrociously optimized.

Video/sound editing/rendering, running a virtual machine or more than one virtual machine at a time, etc

There are definitely uses for it - not to say they're common, but uses exist.
