Author Topic: Do you support the second amendment?  (Read 17172 times)

Yes, as long as the guns are regulated and safe, which they already are more or less.
which they already are more or less.
what the actual forget are you talking about
no they're not by any stretch of the imagination

@OP: do I believe that a militia should have the right to own muskets? sure.

if the second amendment was for a militia and only for a militia it would say so

if the second amendment was for a militia and only for a militia it would say so
but when the second amendment was added the only guns they had were muskets and such that took a longer time to reload or shoot unlike the modern assault rifle.

And we have a winner!

Who's really dumb...

so we the people should go back to muzzle-loading muskets that have a range of about 500 feet while the government has guns that can kill us from a mile away? oh okay

If your government starts shooting at you (and I mean the people, not just one person), I don't think you have to follow their laws and can go and defend yourself however.

which is hard to do when you have useful weapons taken away!!!

What's with the expectation that your government is going to form an oppressive tyrannical regime?

For a country so broiled up in being democratic, you'd think you'd vote for someone you felt safe with.

just like venezuela "voted" for hugo chavez

Are you really saying that elections in the U.S. are rigged?

no good job on interpretation though a+

Well then, instead of being condescending, care to explain your point? According to your profile, you live in Florida, so I'm going to assume you support gun rights in the U.S.. Dooble was referring specifically to the U.S.. You implied that Venezuelans didn't really vote for Hugo Chavez, which, in turn, seemed to imply that we, in the U.S., don't vote for our elected officials.

No, I don't. I don't support the way that it's written, it's too vague and gives anyone the right to have ANY weapon. It needs to be re-written.

The entire Constitution needs to be re-written.

Them trying to limit guns are handicapped.

The entire point of the 2nd amendment was to have the option of an uprising if the government became tyrannical or corrupt.
I would be fine with stricter background checks, etc, but I think we're limited enough on what kinds of guns we can have atm.
