I was thinking about this on a couple of rpg servers ive been to.
Why doesnt someone build a tool (Or wand) that when you hit the base plate of say, a block built hamburger it is made able to be picked up, now i don't know much about scripting or what ever you do but would it be possible to make?

Edit:Lol i forgot to put somthing after "(Request)" So sorry to whom it may bother.

That's basically like the duplicator wand, just remove the original after you use it...

It is?
I thought the duplicator was for.. well duplicating not to be able to make bricks er... pickable upable...

It makes a ghost bricks of the original brick you hit, this makes you be able to place it wherever you want, and a complete duplicate will be created.
Than you can just delete the original and that's it.

I don't know if you get what i mean, im talking about .. (Setting scene) You place a 2x2 and build a hamburger, you hit the hamburger with the... er.. toolinator and walk over it and now its in your inventory

Huh, do you mean the bricks necessary to build the hamburger will be in your brick inventory?
Interesting, but seems useless.

I think he wants the hamburger to show up in the item inventory, as if it were a usable item, and could be held in the hands.  I do not think this is possible, with the way bricks currently work.

So, let me get this straight. He posted a REQUEST thread in the modification forum, when there is a REQUEST forum a few inches upward?

Yep.

It looks like we have a smart one here!

Oh yes! :D

That's impossible as far as I know.

Generating new items on the go would cause datablock transmitting lag.

It would be possible to make a 'build' item - you collide with the set bricks, they delete themselves, you gain a "Build" item, when you shoot the ground with it the build appears if it can be placed there?

I'm pretty sure thats what Ephi is doing. He said you could take/will need certain materials and combine them in a GUI and it becomes an item. So....you might need 4 tires, 5 pounds of steel and some rubber to make a jeep or bread and meat and cheese for a burger.

That sounds pretty nifty.
