My door was elevated enough that it just opened right up.

It was a sticky situation but getting out was the easy part.

Luckily it looks like only front end cosmetic damage. However, I would make sure the alignment is not messed up or the axle is not bent in any way. Just general things under the car which could have been damaged in the crash.

As for the airbag, you probably did not hit it in the right area, which was probably a good thing. Airbags will deploy when the amount of force equivalent to hitting a solid barrier at 15-20+ MPH is applied. It also needs to be applied directly to the front.

I will definitely listen closely as a drive the car to make sure nothing on the bottom of it is forgeted up.
The SRS light indicates that the air bags are no longer functional, so even if I had applied enough pressure (which I didnt, I just slid into the swamp) they probably wouldn't have gone off.
