So let's set up some background first shall we:
A few years ago, my mom ran a very successful, private graphic design company, going as far as to win an award (solid gold, idk the name, if people really care I'll ask her/ get a pic of it) she sold the company for a huge profit because of her own work, but she didn't like running a company. Late 2009ish our family moved out to North Carolina (profile info is accurate ;) ) and she got a job working for BASF (world's largest agricultural chemical company, they do stuff like green energy, corn into biofuel, cheap building materials, genetic modifications to plants, 'supercrops' etc) as a global marketing director. So she does a lot of global work, and plays a very important role for the company. Once to three times a month, she goes out of country to different global meetings.

WHERE THINGS GET INTERESTING
Recently, the BASF HQ in Germany requested my mom, for 6 months. The company would pay to move us there AND back, and I could live in Germany for half a year. On the one hand; I have no friends, nothing to lose, I just text aquintences all day long anyways. On the other hand, I wouldn't know anyone THERE either, and I don't wanna risk getting too attached.

So, any forumers from Germany? How's the weather around October? Protips?
Whether or not she takes the offer almost half rests on me, cause everything else about it is positive. She'd have shorter work hours, higher pay, extra vacation time (but she has years of that saved up so that's not as big a deal), etc.

It sounds cool, and I'm like 90% certain I'll tell her I'd be totally cool with it.

germany is sick. on the autobahn you can go as fast as you want and every house has an adorable tiny refrigerator because they cant afford real ones

I went to Austria and Hungary, and it was fun there.

I always wanted to go to Deutchland so badly

Kalphiter convinced me that you should.

go for it op. its good to visit other countries sometimes. even if their basically 3rd world compared to the US.

I've never lived in Germany, but I do have dual citizenship. Thus, I have gone to Germany many times to visit relatives and such.  The weather is like any other place at the same latitude which means average weather throughout parts of the year. If you do go, you will need adapters for your phones as they use a completely different outlet, but those are rather cheap and easy to find. In fact, im going back to Germany over Spring Break so I could give you more up to date info when I get back.

>No friends in America.

Well. You got nothing to loose. Go! Go to the land of the germans!

Europeans generally have smaller fridges because they buy fresher food almost daily.

It's an American thing to have a massive fridge and fill it up with food that won't go bad for a few months.

I wouldn't mind going to Germany.

germany is more awesome than the majority of the general public seems to think.

i went there once, even if it was only for a day but it was one of the best trips of my life.
