I came up with a gay theory lately

What if homoloveuality was some kind of a gene that activates when humans are overpopulating the earth? Like a back switch to stop us from overpopulating and destroying the earth with pollution made by nature?

It's a possibility "gay" could be a recessive gene but it inexplicably being activated because there are too many people is kind of far out there.
