Xenomorphs

"A what?"
"A xenomorph."

The Xenomorph is an extraterrestrial species with multiple life cycles, originating from the planet Proteus, or Xenomorph Prime. One of the most deadly of all known alien species, these creatures need a host organism in order to reproduce. The appearance and abilities of the xenomorph varies depending on its host. The human phenotype is generally around 7-8 feet, and roughly 136.0 to 181.4 kilograms with a long, muscular tail and large, curved, oblong head. The Queen of the species is generally twice as large and possesses superior speed, strength and intelligence.

There are many Xenomorph races, such as the Snake and Scorpion Xenomorphs, but we'll focus on the Warriors, Drones, and the Queen, the first ones to hit the big screen.

Drones

The first ones to appear, drones are the "worker bees" of an Alien hive and are loyal servants to the Xenomorph Queen. They are responsible for collecting hosts, further building the hive, and caring for the Queen's eggs.

They are the smaller ones, but don't be fooled, these guys are still pretty tough, and very common. This acid-blooded hunk of death, has a set of twin jaws, and a razor sharp tail. Like the other xenomorphs, they use their agility to their advantage. Such as, climbing on walls at massive speed. There's not much to talk about for these guys, so let's move on.

Warriors

Larger than its Drone cousins, the Warrior Xenomorph stands 8 feet tall when standing straight up and are about 14-16 feet when crawling on all fours, their tails included. The most visible difference that Warriors have from other Xenomorphs is the ridged head (Called Warrior Ridged) although warriors have been know to have smooth heads (Called Warrior Dome) The head carapace is also harder than that of a Drone's, able to ram into targets and capable of knocking any target away
Runners

Runners are the one of the smallest xenomorphs, on par with the Drone. They act as scouts for the Hive, likely due to their quadrapedal and fast nature. Other names for them are the Dog Alien or the Bambi burster. They are made from a facehugger jumping onto a dog or other quadrupedal species, such as an oxen.

Runners are tinged a noticeable red and run on four legs like the host they hailed from. However, they will walk and stand on two legs sometimes. On their back, there are no dorsal tubes, likely for better head mobility. Unlike most Aliens, they are digitigrade (i.e. they walk on their toes).
Their chestbursters are not as larval as the other aliens, but rather a smaller, pale version of itself.
It is a comparatively weak alien, the weakest of them all and easiest to spot due to its red coloration, which is why it prefers to rush enemies in packs of more runners or other aliens. However, it is still more than capable of ripping humans apart. They are obviously the weakest kind of xenomorph.

Gorilla

Gorilla-Strain Xenomorphs hail from the jungle planet Zeevan, and their facehuggers are blue in hue.
They have long arms, used to easily grab hold of a victim. However, their most devastating attack is their ability to spray an acidic compound from their second jaw - likely the reason for their enlarged cranium.

Their tails have adapted to include a third, less-complex hand, to move about in an arboreal environment such as the jungle.

King
[no image]
A King Alien is a rare variety of Xenomorph that is only found in the most advanced colonies. Its sole purpose is to defend the colonies queen. If it is killed, it releases pheramones that trigger one of the praetorians to morph into a new hive ruler. If it fails to protect its queen it will morph into a new one, in order to continue the colony.
Killer Crab

A Xenomorph formed from a giant crab.
It has two hind legs and four arms. The lower arms are used as the front legs, while the top are used to grab prey.
It can fire what appears to be silver Chestbursters from it's two chest cavities, and it possesses a pronged tail.

Palatine

Indiginous only to the Xenomorph home world; Palatines, Chosen Protector or Chosen Few are the elite of the elite in terms of xenomorph castes. The Queen Mother's Queen-sized personal guard, they are tall and gangly, much resembling anorexic Praetorians with long horn-like tines and long pointed cranium. They are the most violent strain of the xenomorph species. Serving only the queen mother they reside in large orb-shaped coccoons outside the royal chamber where they quickly dispatch any outside intruders with their primitive savagery. In the event a queen mother dies they will molt into a new one with the aid of royal jelly in the queen's chamber becoming the subordinent leader of all the aliens on the planet.
The Mighty Queen

In every hive, the Queen is the largest and most intelligent female. She is usually the mother of every Drone and Warrior in the hive, since she is the only one to lay eggs. The Queen Alien is the primary antagonist of Aliens franchise films, and AVP (avp is stuff).

Queens are much larger than Drones and Warriors. They stand approximately twenty feet tall at the hip. They have twin sets of arms and are built more similarly to a large theropod dinosaur than a humanoid. They also have a much larger braincase than the average adult Xenomorph, protected by a large crest above their heads. They also have a slightly stronger tail, which can be used as a weapon, along with their limbs and inner jaw, as shown in the climactic battle with Ripley in Aliens. Due to their immense size, they are extremely strong.
Another well-known feature is the immense ovipositor in the Queen's lower torso, which is responsible for creating eggs (similar to a queen termite). She is able to detach from the ovipositor in an emergency, and will regenerate a new one when the danger is over. Queens also have a higher ability to relate cause and effect, and to make observations and deductions, allowing them a rudimentary understanding of technology in the same way as some primates - ex. The Queen's use of an elevator on LV-426.

The Queen is also considered to be the strongest caste of Xenomorph, able to evenly fight Ripley in a Power Loader in Aliens. Queens seem more resilient to damage than the rest of the hive (even when adjusted for size), as demonstrated in Alien vs. Predator. She receives several deep throat wounds and is speared through the head, and yet remains alive.

The Xenomorph Life Cycle

Xenomorphs just don't get in the bed and have love to have babies, it's much more gruesome. An unlucky being, the host, will come across the egg laid by the queen. A facehugger will jump at the host's face, impregnating it with the soon to be... chestburster. The chestburster does exactly what you would think, burst out of your chest. After the host has been impregnated by the facehugger, it will slowly die, and the chestburster will be born, and the host will be dead. Soon, they'll grow rather quickly to become adults, which you already know about, so let's stop here.

I love the ALIEN series (only the first two movies), and I wanted to share some info with you guys, if you want something added, post and I'll add it shortly. Please note that some information has been taken from the wiki.
