Author Topic: Got DDoS'ed and now have a VPN  (Read 2551 times)

why in the world would you buy a vpn to protect against DDOS attacks? you can get a fine VPN for free (or just, you know, log the ddosers IP and report them to their ISP)

the only reason people buy VPNs is so they don't have logs

Because free VPNs are slow and will most likely sell your data to third-party companies.

I thought they determined it was through a proxy?

Must have been a different topic.

or just get tor and schedule it to change identities on a regular basis
:u
yeah but Tor is not a very fast browser.
It's like, IE slow.

Pretty much all routers allow you to spoof your MAC address.
I know, but the subject wasn't on MAC spoofing. I was just telling him what a MAC address was.

Also, yeah, not sure why anyone would DDoS a home PC. Not like you'll get anywhere or prove anything...
It's just more effective (and just as illegal) to DDoS a public domain because you forget over a stuff load of people at once.

If anything it was just a DoS attack.

If anything it was just a DoS attack.
This too.
I keep forgetting DDoS includes multiple clients/zombie computers DoSing a domain (or in your case, your home PC).
DoS just includes 1 person doing that to a domain/home pc.
