Mice aren't murderously cannibalistic, though, they only really eat the corpses of already dead mice and suchlike, the most they'll kill themselves is another dominant male or bugs and I'm fairly certain that the OP specified that at least ONE of these mice was female

This happened to my hamster. It probably died in a fight with the dominant one and got ate by the dominant one.
