I have a couple of Canadian pennies, in fact, one is from 1955/65 I forget which.

How long until they hold value?

for coin collectors, probably a lot. For trade in Canada, none

I doubt pennies are going to be worth much unless it's really old and even then not for a while since they're still taking them out of circulation. Don't get your hopes up on making money off them.

Not really, they're so common they're not going to be worth anything more than a penny anytime soon. I have an 1888 silver morgan dollar, it's not worth much more than melt value because of condition. Like most coins condition means a lot, and a mass produced coin for quite a few years isn't going to be worth much ever.
