Author Topic: Need help with coding.  (Read 1273 times)

Ok, first off, i dont know if i should of put this in
another topic, so its kinda clashed between the two.
Now onto the point. If you're in the UK and are choosing
your GSCES ( tests ) or have taken them already then
i need your help, or anyone who is good at scripting/coding. Ii am currently going to
choose computing
as a subject. Computeing is basically making scripts and coding
for games and such. But i lack in these skills and i think that
VCE events could really help me to start off. So this probably sounds
cheesy but i need a teacher ( lol ) to teach me how to use VCE to
a high level. also what would be really helpful is a teacher that knows
how to use things like python and scratch. I hope you can help me
and thank you! :)

lol VCE and scratch .. go learn torquescript or LUA or java or something easy like that first. if you want to code don't bother with petty stuff like scratch, and don't bother with things that aren't even coding like VCE. you can learn the basics better if you just go look at some torquescript. learn very basic things like if statements and variable declaration and loops to start with. VCE isn't going to help you very much, the most it would help you with is logic but honestly you can learn that by yourself just by looking at code.

It's really difficult to understand what your trying to say with that jumbo of text, so I'm just going to answer what I assume from what I'm reading.

Ahem...
VCE isn't considered a (in your terms) "coding language", and it shouldn't be treated as such.

Assuming your starting completely from scratch;
Try "Batch" or "QBasic" or "Visual Basic". Those should get you started.
