So Im in the hospital right now with both of my parents. I'm not in a bed or anything, it's just a more precise checkup. I have a condition called cystinuria which causes kidney stones to form in my kidneys (except right now they're half the size of my fist. Also, reference to my previous kidney stone topic)

The doctor just left, and they want me to urinate like 3 liters a day. Most people average at like 1.4. That's like drinking 3 large soda bottles.

Holy stuff. How the hell am I going to drink 3 soda bottles of fluid.

Do they break them up with ultrasound or are you gonna need surgery?

I'd be more concerned about having to piss out the kidney stones.

No, they're cystine stones and their larger than golf balls. This'll end up being my 4th surgery, and essentially they'll be vacuuming my kidneys out.

Except it's both of my kidneys so of they DO get both, they'll vacuum out my left side with super-stone, and they'll "go up the river" to my left kidney.

Odds are I'll end up with a catheter, and last time I got stuck with that stuff they gave me a size larger because they figured I could handle it.

It's less painful if you just imagine the tube as part of your urethra and that the doctors just pulled it out of you and stretched it.

Wait don't do that; it might make it more painful.

Lol the first catheter I had was like the 2nd largest size possible, and the nurse ended up removing that. Her exact quote was "on 3 I'll pull, just take a deep breath on 3."

Didn't help.

And the 2nd / last time I had one it was the take home edition, boy was that fun.

I would never ever want to get kidney stones or get a catheter stuck in my richard. I usually drink about a gallon of water a day so I think I'm pretty safe. Though my dad has had a few kidney stones. I would want to be knocked the forget out if I ever had a kidney stone.

I mean they're kind of gross, but vaginas are just awful. With all the bleeding and other things, it's pretty icky.
