I've actually seen this done



It was loving horrible.

2 limits stopping this:

1) 512 quads, not faces (if a face has more than 4 sides, it's going to have more than 1 quad).
2) 64x max size for bricks.

One thing that's been mentioned in other topics is that the bedroom could be broken into chunks, but the sheer number of quads means it'd still be a significant brick count.

Wouldn't lighting on all this suck though? If you weren't running max, then you'd have that terrible vertex lighting. With giant bricks it would look awful.

Cut the bedroom into different parts and put it back together in game?

I thought bricks could only have so many faces?
It has around 4k quads but since you need to split it to pieces that means you could handle all of them with just eight 64x cubes. I would be more worried about the limit of 10 cuboid collisions per brick.

That is an ngon and Bedroom doesn't have any. Blockland doesn't have any.

Shaders work on DTS models obviously.

...How would collision work?
DTS for slopes and BLS for everything else.
