Author Topic: List of things to fix before Greenlight  (Read 2666 times)

Blockland is probably at its closest to being greenlit on steam, it may be this month or it may be next month. Small bugs will be categorized "Small Bugs" and bigger bugs that are harder to fix wil be "Large Bugs". I will add everyone's bug report to the OP.

Small Bugs

1. After joining a server and "Downloading Sounds" Blockland has to be completely restarted in order for you to hear the sounds on a server.
2. If you check "Download Music" AND "Download Sounds" in the Network tab you need to restart Blockland in order to hear both Music and Sounds.
3. Rampage gamemode does not load the first build up on starting the gamemode. Even after it still won't load the save.

Large Bugs

4. High perfomance requirements/glitches with shaders and shadows should be fixed.

In my opinion, the last time we saw it, which is when almost everybody wanted it greenlit, and we were only at 1%. That was probably most or atleast half of the community that greenlit it. I don't think we are going to get greenlit.

High performance is probably needed for these to actually work.

I will post, although I am almost sure shaders is already optimized a lot. I think this wil go in Large Bugs because Badspot would have to edit the shader code.

I don't think you've been keeping up with the Greenlight topic
if Steam keeps approving at the same rate as they are right now, we'll be greenlit within 3 months or so

my friend got a brand new desktop with a (slightly) above average ati video card. i say this because it was a 200 dollar one on its own. good and modern, but not epic. (the actual model escapes me)

and she cant play blockland unless shaders are completely off. they do have pretty high requirements. unless its an ati thing. i am use to nvidia.

My graphics card which is around $220 can handle Blockland with a smooth frame-rate on max shaders.

Here is a bug with shaders I found.

For some reason I get massive performance decreases in multiplayer servers.
40,000 bricks, max shaders, single player, 120 FPS
40,000 bricks, medium shaders, server with 10 players, 30 FPS.

SpeedKart stuff interferes even when in Custom gamemode.
Glitches with transparent bricks: bricks behind have a one or two second delay showing the brick when planting, certain FX don't show behind transparent stuff, other transparent bricks don't always show

Hey guys, did you know you have shadows when you have a hat on?

destroys virtual reality.

Several reports for people that have Nvidia Geforce GTX (number) get random shader lines.
Including me.
Just wanted to point that out.

Brick transparency.
That needs to be fixed.
