What really loving sucks is that every computer I've seen in every computer shop nowadays is built with Intel.

That's because they make the best processors ............................. ............................. ............................. ..........

Do you even understand the difference between a processor and a graphics card?

Intel chips have integrated (built-in) graphics (which are the problem here as they do not have the means to run S&S).

The processors themselves are FANTASTIC. Intel processors are not bad. They are in fact the best processors you can buy (however they are more expensive than AMD which is why AMD is great for budget builds).

The thing people don't understand is that INTEL DOES NOT SUCK. HAVING AN INTEL CPU DOES NOT MEAN YOUR COMPUTER SUCKS. You then add a dedicated GPU (read: graphics card), and the integrated graphics disable in favor of the stronger, actual GPU.

I am sick and tired of people thinking "Intel blows! Intel makes stuffty graphics cards!" INTEL DOESN'T MAKE GRAPHICS CARDS. Intel makes great CPUs with mediocre integrated graphics. There is a difference between a dedicated card and built-in graphics. You're not SUPPOSED to use the built-in graphics for gaming. Yes you can, but if you want to actually game at a reasonable level, you buy a real GPU.

The fact of it being a "laptop" isn't the problem. The problem is not having a dedicated GPU, which can be found in both laptops and desktops. While Desktops are more normally more powerful than Desktops.

So would a ViDock 4 Work?

BTW a Vidock is an External Graphics Card That Has an ATI Radion

2. If you don't like it, nobody's forcing you to play. What's been done's been done.

Or, you could just, you know, play with shader quality on Off.

Problem is I WANT shadows!

Then buy a better computer.
Get a job, mow lawns, be a prostitute.
Do something to acquire money and get something better than a stone.

I've said this before, ~$30 for a simple PCI video card that will run shaders, if you have a laptop, face the fact that most laptops are not built for gaming.

Maybe because Intel are the best processors?

I see AMD focused prebuilts all over the place, however Intel does dominate the market.

Anyone who purchases a prebuilt shouldn't be heavily gaming though imo

I have a first gen i3 card which can just run shaders, but i lose about 10 fps

I don't want to sound like a meanie but you should have researched the laptop you were buying before you bought it. If you did and Blockland shaders doesn't run well then, well actually you didn't research because there have been numerous posts of shaders not working on Intel so you should have known this.
